ButterKey is a gateway. When you submit a request, your input is transmitted to the third party model provider you select, or that is selected through automatic routing, so that the provider can generate a response. Each provider processes your data under its own terms and privacy policies, which may include retaining or using that data for its own purposes. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the practices of third party providers. We use your inputs only to route and fulfill your requests, and we do not sell your personal information.

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the service, to process billing, to communicate with you, to prevent fraud and abuse, and to comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

4. How we share information

We share information with model providers to fulfill your requests, with payment processors and infrastructure and service providers that help us operate the service under confidentiality obligations, and where required to comply with law or to protect our rights, users, or the public. We do not sell your personal information.

5. Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet our legal, tax, accounting, and security obligations, after which we delete or anonymize it.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account and API keys confidential.
